Smoothie and Sandwich Chain Announces Winner of Sweepstakes for ‘SHORTS’ Movie Release Promotion with Studio Company





Destin, Florida (September, 2009) – Tropical Smoothie Café, a tropical-themed smoothie and sandwich chain with 280 locations nationwide, today announced the winner of its sweepstakes celebrating the release of the magical fantasy adventure SHORTS, starring Jon Cryer, William H. Macy and James Spader.





In partnership with Warner Bros. Studios, Tropical Smoothie Café’s promotion lasted from July 26, 2009 to August 29, 2009 and had more than 10,000 entrants vying for an opportunity to win a free trip for four to Los Angeles and four VIP passes for a tour of Warner Bros. Studios.





Sweepstakes winner Michelle Calhoon of Anthem, Ariz., her husband, John, and two close friends from Minnesota will spend three nights in a hotel of their choice in Los Angeles. Calhoon has until April 29, 2010, to take the trip, but she said their plans are go around the first week of December this year and stay at the Disneyland Hotel.





“I was over-the-moon excited when I got a phone call telling me I had won a trip to Los Angeles and a VIP Tour of Warner Bros. Studios,” Calhoon said. “The mere history within those walls is exciting in and of itself.”





Calhoon describes herself as a “sweepstakes hobbyist” who has won other prizes, but nothing can compare to this one.





“This is an extremely generous grand prize Tropical Smoothie Café has awarded me, and I am very grateful. This experience is definitely one of the highlights of my ‘sweepstaking’ career,” she added





The prize includes round-trip airfare, in addition to the hotel stay and tour of Warner Bros. Studios. The total value of Tropical Smoothie Café’s sweepstakes grand prize is $6,000.
